A camporee is a gathering of Boy Scout Troops for a weekend of camping with competition and activities typically based around a common theme. The district outdoor committee decides on a theme and then plans the weeknds events around that theme. Some examples of activities include knot tying, pioneering skills (lashing, etc), orienteering, first aid, aviation, emergency preparedness, among others. District Camporees are held in the Spring and Fall each year with a Council camporee occuring every three years and includes troops from across the council.
